At A.K.I. Seminars, Awareness, Knowledge, and Intuition are emphasized and cultivated to empower people to live a better life. A.K.I. Seminars is an organization dedicated to preventing assault, especially against women and children, by raising awareness through education and training.
We believe that empowerment comes through knowledge. We provide personal defense tools by increasing people's awareness, cultivating their inherit intuition, providing realistic self defense instruction, insight to risk assessment, defensive techniques, strategy and tactics. We also provide insight to conflict avoidance, through the use of scenario re-enactments. But most important is to get into the correct mindset concerning "Self Defense".

A.K.I. Seminars is a group of certified martial artists with a lifelong dedication to safety and security. We have the knowledge and experience to give you the most comprehensive self defense training available. Our real world approach teaches simple, effective techniques and methods. Our training empowers people with knowledge, awareness, ability and confidence.
REAL WORLD vs FANTASY:
Unlike a commercial martial arts school, A.K.I. Seminars does not provide rank or certificates of proficiency; as we believe that these external badges of honor provide a false sense of security.
Our instructors value proficiency and skill of the mind and body over external emblems offered by martial arts schools and self defense courses offered at the "Y". The award of a "color" of belt or a "piece" of paper does not equate to you having the skill and ability to defend yourself against an attack from your blind spot, when you are alone in a desolate place. Criminals do not fight fair, because they do not fight at all. Muggers ambush their victims because these people were not paying attention to their surroundings and the people around them. Rapists usually grab from behind and display a weapon to instill fear in their victims.
THEY THINK DIFFERENT:
Those who will do you and your family harm simply have a different way of thinking. They are usually self centered, selfish individuals who lack a social conscious, as they regard their fellowman simply as a "meal ticket" and nothing more.
They chose their targets based on the awarenessness that the victim displays during their daily activities. Being self absorbed as you walk through the parking lot after work sets off flares to these types of individuals.
SECURING YOUR SAFETY:
Your ultimate well being and that of your family is solely in your hands. In the time of duress, you are there. The police usually arrive after the crime is committed not before or during the event. Regardless of your gender, being safe requires knowledge and skill. Allow us to guide you through this world.
